Objectives and Credit Information
Objectives
To learn effective cross-cultural approaches to care for African-American patients with cardiovascular disease, especially hypertension. Participation is intended to improve knowledge, attitudes, and skills.
Target Audience
The target audiences are practicing physicians, residents in training, and medical students.
Time to Completion
This course will take up to 30 minutes to complete each time, depending on how much time is spent on cases and reference materials.
Participation in the Course
This course is offered in a case format online. Participants are asked to review each section of the program in order to successfully complete the course for an online printable certificate.
Accreditation and Credit Information
Accreditation
The University of Alabama School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit
The University of Alabama School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for each module. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nursing Credit Information
The boards of nursing in many states recognize Category 1 continuing medical education courses as acceptable activities for the renewal of license to practice nursing.
